Community Culinary Connection
Charcuterie on the Pier made history by becoming the site of the world’s longest charcuterie board, a remarkable creation by locally owned Sheila’s Catering Company. This culinary feat shattered previous records, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
The event was made possible through the sponsorship by numerous community members including our culinary enthusiast teams from Chew On This Tasty Tours and With The Chef. The backbone of this successful event was undoubtedly the dedicated force of volunteers who poured their heart and soul into making it a memorable experience.

The official measurement of the charcuterie board came in at an impressive 485 feet, smashing the previous record and setting a new Guinness World Record. The attention to detail and the sheer scale of this culinary masterpiece left onlookers in impressed. As attendees marvelled at the artistic arrangement of cured meats, cheeses, fruits, and more, the sun-drenched pier at White Rock provided a stunning backdrop for this monumental feat.

One of the unique aspects of “Charcuterie on the Pier” was its ability to keep the delectable offerings safe from the usual seaside scavengers. Thanks to the presence of falconers and their hawks, not a single seagull dared to venture near the tantalizing spread. This added a layer of intrigue and spectacle to the event, highlighting the lengths to which organizers went to ensure its success.
As the event unfolded on a hot and sunny day, attendees were treated not only to an unforgettable culinary experience but also to a breathtaking low tide water view. The combination of gourmet delights and the natural beauty of the surroundings made “Charcuterie on the Pier” an event that truly captured the essence of the White Rock Pier and the spirit of British Columbia’s vibrant culinary scene.
