Tourism’s bright spark ignited the next phase of my entrepreneurial journey when I became a finalist in the “Spark” Program. This initiative, spearheaded by Destination BC and the Tourism Innovation Lab, is a beacon for tourism visionaries across British Columbia. It’s not just a competition; it’s a launchpad for innovative ideas that can reshape our province’s tourism landscape.
PRIZE
As a finalist, I had the unique opportunity to pitch my concept to a panel brimming with industry expertise. Their nod of approval came with a $3,000 grant and a mentorship from one of a network of mentors who’ve walked the path I’m embarking on. This isn’t just about funding; it’s about forging connections and gaining insights that are as valuable as gold in the tourism industry.

The “Spark” Program is more than a contest; it’s a community. A community that thrives on collaboration, where knowledge is shared freely, and support is abundant. It’s a place where challenges are tackled head-on, with a collective wisdom guiding you through. This experience has sharpened my skills, expanded my network, and solidified my resolve to make a mark in the world of tourism.
